This book offers wonderful recipes for creating healthy recipes that are yummy for the whole family. It uses whole grains that are free of gluten and *natural* sweeteners that don't raise blood sugar. It has great recipes for healthy baked goods, which I think is what most individuals miss when they're working to get healthy. It's an invaluable resource for our family!

We recently purchased the book Abby the Alley Cat: Staying Safe From Diary for my daughter who we recently found out has multiple food allergies. She loves it. I like that it puts a positive spin on refusing dairy, rather than making it sound like she's missing out on something. It is empowering for her to have that reinforcement and there is a great reminder that there are yummy things that she can eat that are safe. The book is also beautifully illustrated. My daughter's favorite picture is of the french poodles. Even my boys, who don't have allergies, love this book. I highly recommend this book and all three of my kids agree.

This book needs to be made known to every asthmatic worldwide. It exposes in one example the entanglement of the medical industry with pharmaceutical companies.
The book can be a little heavy at times, but the story is one of courage and morality and the efforts of one individual to shed light on why so many asthmatics in New Zealand were dying. Congratulations to Neil Pearce on this book.

This book is very straightforward, no sugar coating. Describes in detail what AIDS is, those who are at risk of contracting AIDS, symptoms of AIDS, and the social, political and medical aspects of the disease. Gives case histories involving people who have been denied their given rights because they are infected with the AIDS virus. Gives accounts of the major research and medical break throughs that are being conducted continuously in hopes of stopping the widespread and looking to a cure for this deadly virus. This book is a definite must for teenagers or anyone who is thinking of becoming sexually active or who is already sexually active. Makes you stop and think really hard about the possible consequences of your actions--be them well thought out or carelessly made.

This really is an excellent new book. People with allergies and or asthma need to find different ways to combat their allergies, besides just using more and more drugs. This book is full of many fine tips for reducing allergies in your house, where you work and play. I am an allergy researcher myself, and I do not know the authors of this book but I applaud them for this fine effort. I recommend it for anyone who has allergies and also for the family of those with allergies. This book will be worth every penny of its cost, in savings and improved lifestyle through less allergy. Do check it out. Thomas Leo Ogren, author of Allergy-Free Gardening

Vital addition to your Dog library
Helpful Votes: 4 out of 4 total.
Review Date: 2001-04-13
This is a well organized book that clearly defines potential skin problems of Dogs or Cats and then plots out a potential resolution that both the layman and the veterinarian alike can use to successfully assist the afflicted pet.

Helps educate the pet owner to ultimately assist the veterinarian with the proper diagnosis by delving comprehensively into the subject of skin disease, its' causative factors and curative possibilities to assist in the proper final diagnosis, which with skin ailments, is sometimes never possible to pin down.

My only wish is that a new, revised addition would be published that would reflect some of the newer drug therapies that have become available since the books' original publication date in 1997.
