I've never read such a good book in my life. It has inspired me to accomplish my goals! I recommended for everyone in the world to read it! This book has made a difference in my life and vocabulary. Ever since I read this book my grades have skyrocketed and I have made more friends. This book has changed my life. This was an amazing book!

Dr. Paula Bender's Book teaches parents how to deal with common, and often annoying, teenage problems. "How to Keep Your Teenager from Driving You Crazy" is easy to read and written in everyday language, not professional jargon. Any parent who reads this book will come away with a blueprint for raising a responsible teenager. Parents will learn how to talk to their teen and how to set limits that work. However, Dr. Bender's book doesn't offer a superficial quick fix. Using the strategies she recommends takes time and commitment, but the results are definitely worth the effort. I highly recommend this book.

I like this book because it tells and teach stories about Negative Peer- Pressure, how Drugs aren't good for you, also Violence, Alcohol, Sex, and other. It also tells you the right rout to take, tells you that Alcohol can get you in really big trouble, and if you know anyone that drinls Alchol stay away from them casue it can lead to really bad danger. Also to always have your eyes open to every step you take by yourself or with your friends, cause your friends might want you to go the same path their going, and you can be setting yourself up to get in trouble. So it tells to look and listen and to say no to your friends and keep them at the same time.

This book describes the work of an extensive survey into the feelings of adolsecents. 1634 teenagers (aged between 13.5 and 14.5 years) filled in questionnaries. This was a project of the Health Promotion Department, Greater Glascow Health Board.

If you are looking for solutions - a 'how to do this' type book - this may not be the book for you. What this book does is openly reveal the feelings of teenagers. Significantly this is done using the words of teenagers.

The book provides invaluable background information for teachers (what's really going on in the heads of those we teach) and parents.

The survey used to collect the information is included as an appendix at the back of the book.

This manual is a great resource tool for teaching the Sacrament of Confirmation. Teachers, parents will find it very valuable as students learn through the ten commandments the meaning of Christian values as they apply to today's world. The excercises are a great tool and the tests apply the knowledge learned. Great choice for Religious Ed teachers or even parents who wish to apply this in their home environments.

This book does a wonderful job at synthesizing and transmitting a vast amount of knowledge on human development. Textbooks are the best way to learn -- why they aren't on the bestseller's lists, I do not know. This one is first rate.

This is the single most important book on African poverty you are likely to read. Ok, it doesn't compare with the scope of Cliffe's The African Poor. But it is very powerfully written and extremely insightful. Those familiar with participatory assessments will know they often find that respondents blame the poor for their plight (not surprising, we do the same in developed countries) - but these results are usually ignored by the researchers. This book demonstrates how important this finding is - not because the poor ARE to blame for their poverty, but because the stigma attached to being poor creates a social poverty trap.

Wiley publishing house has over the years published several good books on eating disorders and especially anorexia nervosa. Alison Eivors, a clinical psychologist working in mental health services in Leicester, and Sophie Nesbitt, also a clinical psychologist, have produced a wonderful workbook as a therapeutic tool for work with young people referred with eating disorders.
"Hunger for understanding" should be used by mental health professionals working with adolescents (11-16 years old as the target group) with anorexia nervosa as one of the toolboxes in the intervention and treatment. All the resources are available on the Wiley website ([...]) and can be used in clinical sessions.
This book has four sections to explain the workbook: The purpose, psychological interventions, therapeutic challenges and discussion of the contents of the workbook, which fills the first 32 pages. The workbook in itself is in eleven sections with many work tasks for the adolescent to perform.
This is an important tool for the therapist and not a book for the patient to read alone, but rather to work together through the intervention process.

This book was both helpful and extremely readable. The short vignettes, clear instructions and examples, and warm tone made it an excellent read. I recommend it to anyone who is having trouble getting through to their teenager.

As the teacher of 7 students with autism, I was facinated bythis book. The three charachers the music therapist focuses upon aredelightful. The writing changes all preconceived notions regarding autism and mental retardation, enabling the reader to understand and accept the clients as PEOPLE rather than "retarded". The ideas about reincarnation and autistic people requesting from God that they be autistic in this life are a bit far-fetched. However, the book will be very encouraging and soothing for the parents of autistic people to read. I recommend it for family members, teachers, care workers, etc. of people with autism.
