Broken down by age groupings as well as gender related categories, Children Communicating should be required reading for educators, child care porfessionals, and others engaged in professions where insight into communication skills is essential.
My only complaint is Dr. Samter's failure to include "Good Dog, Carl" in her listing of reccomended children's literature used to generate discussion with talk-averse preschoolers. Otherwise the list is well thought out.

I found this book gives great insight to the way children think and react. So many books leave the reader wondering what was really meant at the end of the book, but this book gives great ideas into what children percieve about their famalies, etc. and how this relates into what they draw. I found this book very readable and informative. I really loved this book!!!

Children Helping Children With Grief is a book that brought hope to my heart. After reading this book people will be able to find strength to deal with their sorrow and loss. It is a book that I will pass on time and time again to family and friends.

Children in Danger is a good book to read. It is very interesting and it talks about children who saw someone get hurt.These children are the ages of two and up. They been in the middle of accidents and around them.I really like this book because it talks about children that are in danger and it explains there problem that they have. Who they saw get hurt. I didnt like that the children were tramitized and they had to go through what happend.
I feel like this book is a good book for everyone to read because it was very interesting. It caught my attention and it inspired me to keep reading the book. It made me feel good that the children were the ones who told some of the story. This is a good book.

Although one of the earlier compendia on the subject, this is a worthwhile read for people interested on how media interacts with youth and family life. I am a child and adolescent psychiatrist. Review articles, essays, and original studies helped me in my research for my own self-help book for parents raising and preparing kids in a media-rich world.

In trying to find who I am, I've been wondering why I don't know who I am. The theories presented in this book hit home for me, and, while I'm still looking, I think I'm starting to get the "why". Well researched and very helpful. Thanks Barbara.
