I totally agree with the other review. When I bought this book I was looking for something totally different... something specifically about Far Infrared Therapy. I'd say 98% of this book has little to do with the title. This book is full of little stories about this woman's journey and stories about her children and each paragraph I read like this I keep waiting for the tie-in to FIR, or even just for a point, and most times there is no tie-in and there is not point to her little story. I hate to be mean, but I'm a bit annoyed that this book was sold with this title when it has so little to do with FIR Mineral Therapy- the title totally mis-represents this book!

If you're looking for a professional look at FIR Therapy and are already aware of most of the alternative "therapies" out there and already understand nutrition and energy and toxicity and cleansing and all that stuff, (or maybe you're new to all this), don't waste your time or money. There are better books out there on each of these topics.

I would even be more interested in reading about someone's journey into natural health & healing if they were a bit more serious about that journey than this author seems to be.

I would have rated the book a 0 if that had been an option.

I am sorry I purchased this book, from the reviews I thought I was purchasing an informative book on IR therapy. Instead it is a personal account of IR therapy from someone who is not a qualified natural healer, only a perosn who has had IR therapy used on them and liked it enough to purchase a IR lamp and use it themselves. The book is written in the perspective of and to the level of a non-health care proffesional. If you are an individual seeking generalized simple information on what IR therapy is and what it can be used for, you MIGHT find this an interesting book.

THIS BOOK IS OF NO VALUE TO A HEALTH CARE PROFFESIONAL WHO IS SEEKING INFORMATION ON THE USE OF AN IR LAMP IN THEIR PRACTICE!

Would not recomend this book for anyone who wants to learn how to do certain exercises. There are no pictures to show how to do any particular exercises.
I found this book one that was hard to stay interested enough in to read more than 1 or 2 pages at a time, and I never was able to get very far into the book. It just was unable to keep me enthused enough to keep reading

This is such BS to be selling this silly document for 4 $. I read encyclopedia in the title and get to thinking that it is an extensive book with lots of information. And instead what do I get for my hard earned $4.00. A single page of text I could have written myself. Please, don't waste your money on this document which is a single page of text. Absolute waste of time and money. I must expres my discontent!!! I can't believe they lowered themselves to such an extent!

Dr. Karkar's Natural Quit Smoking "book" is nothing more than a few poorly written pages reflecting on his own experience quitting smoking. Nothing scientific or even very helpful here. Looking through Dr. Karkar's other[...] offerings on Kindle, it seems to me to be a bit of a scam.

This is by far the most pathetic book on Chinese medicine that I have ever come across. It is poorly edited and loaded with superfluous information (much of which is unfounded). This book does nothing to dispel the unfortunate and grossly disproportionate myths about TCM's clinicsl efficacy; does she make this stuff up? The author's students are reportedly required to purchase her books for their studies, and it wouldn't surprise me to discover that their homework assignements constituted the bulk of Ms. Gardner-Abbate's "research".

This book only scratches the surface. A good first glance, perhaps, but most of the material will be old hat to anyone who's studied shiatsu massage or begun the general study of acupuncture.

I found the translation to be poor and the book very tedious. The instructions were unclear, as were the confused approach to geomancy's relationship to feng shui. Would not recommend.

Xerox images - no structure - midevil treatment of horses
Helpful Votes: 3 out of 3 total.
Review Date: 2008-05-03
I am NOT impressed by this book. The images in the book look like they are photocopied into it(Xerox style) Lousy quality!

The acupoint charts and description of the points are not easy to link together as they are presented in different chapters.

The book describes how to burn the horses with hot needles and moxa until they get burnmarks. Descriptions on how to use knifelike needles instead of regular acupuncture needles are common. Restraining methods of the horses to be able to torture them with the midevil methods mentioned above are explained to the reader. Discusting!

Save your money, DONT buy this book. I recommend Veterinary Acupuncture written by Schoen, Equine Acupressure from Tallgrass Publishers and
Equine Landmark Anotomy and Acupoint Energetice by Amy Snow if you would like to learn more about equine acupuncture/acupressure.
