Great pictures, not a lot of scientific explanation.

The title misses the point. I find that the book is a good one for showing stunning illustrations of medicinal plants that can help people with cancer. Unfortunately, the text part does not explore the scientific basis of Chinese integrative cancer therapy, except to discuss a researcher and clinic near Chiang Bai Shan. I think that the original author died before the text was completed, so that we find the outcome that we do. His wife was the likely finisher of the work and although well educated in natural products, probably did not have the depth of knowledge that her husband did. I am glad I bought the book, of course, and would recommend for the illustrations alone.
The general discussion of Traditional Chinese Medicine is good for the beginner. The plants in the illustrated part are not exhaustive, but are a good start in the investigation of possible drug candidates. The discussion of Tien Hsien liquid and the identification of its constituent herbs is also very helpful. Perhaps someday we will find an English speaker to get to know Dr. Wang Zhen Guo, the inventor, well enough to publish a thorough interview with him.

Shen is not an easy subject. Some north-american teachers do not know much about it. They try to explain it like it is something far away from us. Some chinese teachers, specially those too young also know nothing about ir because the political system in power in China after 1948. This book gets closer to what we really need to know about Shen. Sometimes the references are larger then the explanations... So far, it is the best you can find in English.

I adore this book and reccomend it to anyone trained in traditional Chinese medicine and Shiatsu and wants to explore the wonders of the birth process. I would not buy it, however, with no backgound in the field. As an LMT with emphasis in Eastern massage techniques and TCM there are places even I don' feel things are fully explained.

This is very useful for relaxation. It is also great for touching others. Some of the concepts are hard to wrap your head around, except a "handy" (pun intended) map in the back pages is very helpful to you get unstuck. The product does come with some warnings such as not to practice reflexology on pregnant women. I use the techniques on myself during times of stress and injury to heal and relax.

At first I was a bit disappointed when I received this book. But after actually reading it I feel it is probably the only reference that provides this information. This book outlines acupuncture for the lay person and perhaps the Western trained health care professional. In this aim, it presents acupuncture in both an ancient perspective and a modern Western Scientific perspective. Acupuncture practitioners who are involved in research or are always challenged by Western trained doctors will find this helpful. Also those considering study or treatment of acupuncture should read this book.

This book is quite informative. It is very quick to go over examples of trials done, but hard to follow the exact technique for Zone Therapy.I have enjoyed the book and picked up quite a bit of information from it.

the truth about this book

Review Date: 2003-09-15
I am Dr. Jerry G Knox BA, DC, the author of this book. I am a licensed chiropractic physician with more than 24 years of clinical practice, most of this time offering colonic irrigation, barium enemas and other colon work. This book and all the other free offerings I have put up on line are based on these 24 years of practice and 11 years of fully accredited college and university education in the sciences. This book is a book intended to help others understand their feelings, and know that they are worthwhile people. It was not written for profit. it was written to help others!

If you have any questions about the book, you have two chapters from it as well as articles on health issues such as candida, irritable bowel sydrome, constipation, cancer, child birth and colds and flu that can improve peoples lives but are not based on making money for doctors or pill pushing companies. All this is on the web at http://www.lifeknox.com I know I am constantly attacked by those that hide behind false names, and lie about my credentientals and work to help humanity. The difference here is that almost all my work is online and published for you to see without any charge. Please judge for yourself as to the worth of it.

One of those detractors claims that my work is even blasphemous! There is nothing in any writing I have ever done on line, in books or articles or anywhere else that teaches any concept other than that of God is Love! and that God loves and cares for all of humanity. I have deliberately reviewed every word in the book to be sure that it is acceptable to all the major religious faiths, and just to those that care for others as fundamental belief system. If that is blasphemous, then what does that person think of the love of Christ, and his teachings of love? My work is based on experience and science, not advocating any church, mosque or synagogue, but seeks to support people in what ever faith they espouse.

thank you

Dr Jerry G. Knox BA, DC

This book helps people understand the love of God, in a very intimate area. I enjoyed it very much and would recommend it to anyone that deals with patients or has been a patient themselves. Truly wonderful. I represents the very best of Christian writing.Dr Knox provides wonderful insights and understands human nature very well---I loved it!! Great reading

THE book for those with interest in enemas. Covers the psychological, sexual, political and spiritual aspects of enemas and colonic irrigations, and is the only book to do so. Has an insightful chapter on a two week wedding ceremony, that could be the model for a new way of looking at entering marriage!

I found this book facinating, good reading. I do not see any conflict with any major religion in the conceptualization or presentation of this book. Highly recommended!

I have to admit I read the excerpts from this book with growing horror. I stumbled upon the book by accident, the name caught my eye having the misfortune of once being married to Mr. Knox. I can see he is still the same sick, delusional person I was lucky enough to escape from. I would only hope that caring parents and loving spouses would see thru the deliberate cloud of so called smoke that is demonstrated here and see these ravings for what they truly are, the rantings of a severely disturbed person.
