Acupuncture Books

You'll love this book. It's simple, like me, and easy to read, understand and apply. Being "disease based" in the manner of Western Medicine and "bian bing" in the Chinese, this book invites one to easily assess proper prescriptions in a rather short time. The "Pattern Cross Reference" and "Formulae and Constituent Herb" sections are invaluable.

It is a Professionally oriented book, but has some value to lay persons.

This is a very good book for Massage techniques, although I found the format a bit disorganized (he has a section for the names of the techniques then he has a separate section on mobilizing certain body parts so you have to switch back and forth to incorporate the information into a full massage procedure). But aside from that it gives you a great deal of information that can have anyone giving a massage in no time. I recommend also getting the book Erotic Massage by Kenneth Ray Stubbs in conjunction with this book. Together they give you a more human approach.

Anyone serious about cranial osteopathy and the nuts and bolts of the head would be foolish to not have this book.It simply brings the anatomy alive and makes for more clarity in the mind of the practitioner. A worthy investment equal to owning the bones.

This is one of my favorites, I like the acupressure points that are presented and the cross referencing to yoga asanas. For shiatsu workers and others there is worthwhile information in this illustrated book.

Ohashi's work clarifies the placement, use, and properties of meridian lines and pressure points. It is also very easy to read and follow, yet very thourough in its coverage of detail. A must for any martial artist looking to expand their knowledge or those interested in mastering Shiatsu. Also a favorite of Mr. George Dillman - How about that for a sponsor!

Filled with important yet difficult to find data this small volume is refreshing and non-polemical. Dr. D is not anti-physician but provides an alternative and complimentary way of looking at standard approaches t o health. The book avoids the long winded often erroneous rants found in books purporting to be helpful. In this case brevity is not only the soul of wit but of wisdom as well

Voll is a pioneer of electro-acupuncture. This text is an excellent intoduction to the theory and technique. It is an excellent springboard for continuing research in the field. I recommend it for practioners, clinicians, researchers, and engineers interested in rehabilitation research.

Well, the "Eye Acupuncture Therapy" is an interesting approach to diagnose and treat different problems. Unfortunately the title can misguide you. It is not a book that refers to the diseases of the eyes. It is a book about how you might treat the unbalances with the needles inserted around the eyeballs. Very hard and almost impossible to approach on the Western patients. You really need to be Mastering years even if you finish a medical school.
Otherwise the book it is very good and informative. A good addition to a reference library.

This was a great book and has proved itself to be very useful in the clinical setting. It may seem like a long list of points for some of the formulas, but if discernment is made as to which points are used with what kind of stimulation (tonification or sedation), results can be exceptional.
