The benefits of these easy to follow sets of exercises are second to none. They are simple and effective. You only need a chair and a towel. As I felt immediate relief I made the exercises a part of my daily routine within two days and never looked back.
What turned out to be a surprising side effect of reducing the pain in my lower back is that I have had a reduction in my blood pressure.
The book is professionally written, easy to understand with detailed pictures and has been a life saver for me. I have found more relief from these exercises than from any other treatment in the past.
I strongly recommend it for everyone who deals with back pain.

This translation includes valuable information in physical, psycho-emotional and spiritual issues that arise with illness. Often the more esoteric information is "lost in translation"

I enojoyed this book because of its simpleness and brief information. It was easy to look up a section of the body or ailment needed and be able to use it in practice. This is like the dummy guide for those who dont want to read through alot of technical stuff to get down to a quick referance or guide. This book included pictures also which made it easy to refer to.

Massage Made Easy begins with background information on the history and benefits of massage, basic massage strokes, and information about acupressure and reflexology. The rest of the book consists of massage routines for specific goals, including relaxation, and relief of backache, tension headache, and joint pains. The reader is given a step-by-step routine of which stokes to perform, and acupressure and reflexology techniques. The routines are illustrated with hundreds of color photographs that show exactly how to do it. Important safety guidelines and information about massage oils are also provided. Overall, I found this book very interesting and easy to understand.

This is an invaluable book for bodyworkers and those interested in learning more about the many different types of massage/bodywork. It includes endless resources and contact information for the information you're looking for.

Medical Acupuncture, A Western Scientific Approach is a collection of essays on acupuncture that helps serve as the foundation of a bridge between acupunture as practiced in Tradtional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and acupunture as practiced from a western biomedical or neuroanatomic perspective. It is not a stand alone book. It is not a practical "how to" book. It is a solid "bridge" book that allows the western trained mind gain a better understanding of acupuncture and how it works / may work.

This small book gives you the principles and the different techniques of moxibustion.
When to use it and more importantly when NOT to use moxibustion.
I had read this book almost a decade ago so I don't remember if it discusses the botanical names of the plants used in making moxa. For e.g., mogusa japonica or artemesia vulgaris etc. For that kind of information get any of Jayasuria's books.

OM massage/bodywork students, professionals and teachers

having used the old standard (TGB) to teach kinesiology, anatomy, pathology, deep tissue massage and neuromuscular therapy for years at multiple massage schools, i have been impatiently waiting for an affordable alternative. while this book lacks kinesiology fundamentals (planes, movements, etc.), it is vastly superior for learning muscles and how to specifically palapate muscles and bony landmarks. moreover, it includes theory (based on current research) on trigger points, trigger point locations, the pain referral patterns, initiating and perpetuating factors and a variety of other insightful comments on specific muscle trigger points.

this book does not replace Travell's advanced volumes, but it is much more approachable.

for the study of muscles and movement, it's incomplete, but if you can get by without the kinesiology fundamentals (as mentioned above), it does replace the old standard text (TGB) as it includes thousands of full color (not dull monochromatic) enhanced photographs and drawings, it is thoughtfully organized (not wandering hither thither and patched with blurbs here and there), includes appropriate (not misleading) palpation technique and includes accurate, current references (not using old, arcane, misleading or inaccurate terms). addtionally, muscolino includes stretches for each specific muscle, information on body mechanics, draping, and massage techniques. the Elsevier website provides further highly valuable resources for both students and teachers. finally, there are two DVDs with four hours of demonstrations.

the book can be bundled with flashcards The Muscle and Bone Palpation Manual with Trigger Points, Referral Patterns and Stretching - Text and Flashcards Package. muscolino also has a muscle and bone coloring book Musculoskeletal Anatomy Coloring Book.

the only improvement (other than providing a chapter on kinesology fundamentals) might be a spiral binding as the student/licensed practitioner will constantly be referring to it and wanting to keep it open while practicing.

This book is a must have for those undergoing NAET treatments. It spells out exactly do's and don'ts necessary for making a treatment "stick." There are many tips and information that we didn't know from our practitioner that helped treatments work better.

I recommend anyone having NAET treatments to save yourself the money from retreatments by reading this book first.
